Mr Marshall, 55, wife Grace, and two children Alexandra, 13, and James, 11, moved from the United Kingdom around a year ago when he took up the position, working out of Outrigger’s regional operating headquarters in Phuket.
“He was very well liked and very well respected,” said Damian Clowes, the hotel group’s Vice President of Corporate Services.
Police said Mr Marshall died in his sleep. His body was taken to Thalang Hospital where an autopsy will take place to determine the cause of death.
A service will held Monday or Tuesday next week.
