At 11am, Kusoldharm rescue workers were call to an incident at a construction site on 50 Year Rd in Patong where a large landslide had crushed six Burmese workers.
Rescue worker said that they had found the body of a 20-year-old man, name withheld until his family have been notified, and five men still alive.
The five were taken to Patong Hospital. However, one man was transferred to Vachira Hospital due to the severity of his injuries.
The Patong Bay Hill construction project covers an area of 60 rai on Na Nai Hill. The project is managed by the Patong Bay Group Co whose operations supervisor is Anupong Muthait.
The project received the green light for construction from the Natural Resources and Environment Ministry and was due to complete in December.
Police are currently questioning site foreman Wittaya Ditchang, to find out more details about the incident.
