The additional Nok Air flight will be slotted into the timetable at 2:40pm. Last week, Bangkok Airways added an early afternoon flight to its schedule, giving it three daily flights to the far north destination. To boost bookings, Nok is selling an all-in one-way fare of B900 for the new service.
Thai AirAsia and Thai Airways have five daily flights each to Chiang Rai with inclusive fares starting at B1,489 and B1,800 respectively. Bangkok Airways sells a one-way fare at B1,645, including taxes.
Meanwhile, Jetstar Pacific, the Ho Chi Ming City-based arm of the Jetstar Group, has announced that it will start a new Bangkok-Hanoi service in March, following the recent launch of daily Bangkok-HCMC flights.
The new service will boost Jetstar Group’s services to Thailand to 90 return flights a week.
