If you have any toys that you don’t want any more then please donate them to the PCF toy library project.
Many children do not have any toys at home because their parents cannot afford them.
“Our toy libraries around Phuket have been immensely popular with children in rural schools and, moreover, have given great pleasure to them,” Cindy Ratcliffe MBE of the Phuket Community Foundation explained.
“Toys are a wonderful way to help children develop their imaginations and social skills as well as a fun way to learn.
“New toys are also very welcome. This will be our 6th toy library on Phuket Island and is in conjunction with the Credit Union Cooperative in Rasada district. There will also be a book library there sponsored by TK Park (Thailand Knowledge Park) in Bangkok,” she added.
A number of local schools – Gecko School, British International School Phuket and Phuket International Academy – are also helping to collect toys, as are Club Asia Fitness Centre at Royal Phuket City Hotel.
In related news, the PCF is currently in discussions with the Scandinavian Orthopedic Laboratory, to see how they can help with their charity to provide prosthetic for amputees who cannot afford them.
