The clean-up, co-organised by Rawai Municipality, was intended as a “gift” to HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to mark her 59th birthday, which will be celebrated on April 2.
Rear Admiral Thiensiri Montriwait, Deputy Commander of the Royal Thai Navy Third Fleet Area Command, led the event that brought together 200 people including sailors, staff of FM 92 City Radio and of News Cable TV, hotel staff, students, fishermen, beach masseuses and local residents to collect trash along the shore.
