Murder-suicide – in front of the children

Two badly traumatised children aged 10 and 12, are today in the care of relatives after their father shot their mother and then himself.
Police were called to a house in Soi Thachun in Kathu this morning where lay the bodies of Soonthorn Tepsutthi, 42, a motorbike taxi driver and his wife Wiranthana Putrak, 37, a golf caddy.
Pol Col Kraitong Janthongbai of Tungtong Police station told The Phuket News that Mr Soonthorn had shot Ms Wiranthana in the head with a sawn-off shotgun, before shooting himself.
The murder-suicide took place in front of the couple’s two children.
Mr Soonthorn’s brother, who lives next door, told police that the couple constantly had heated arguments, and Mr Soonthorn had just discovered that Ms Wiranthana was having an affair.
The brother said that he was taking a shower this morning when he received a text message from Mr Soonthorn, asking him to take care of the children. He dressed and rushed next door, but by that time the couple were dead.
