Boonrat Chareupong, Deputy Chief of Phuket Provincial Electricity Authority confirmed to The Phuket News today (Sept 5) that work on pulling down last three high voltage electricity poles on Yoawarat Rd was completed yesterday.

The most recent phase of the underground cable project on Yaowarat Rd started on March 2, 2015 and was expected to take at least 180 days to complete. (See story here.)

The work, from the Suriyadej Traffic Circle (Water Fountain) until the junction with Dibuk Rd, cost around B108 million and includes improved electrical, telephone, telecommunications, water and infrastructure systems for PEA, TOT, CAT Telecom and the Phuket Town Municipality.

Mr Boonrat apologised to Phuket motorists and residents for the disruption the work may have caused.
