The Khao Yai rescue team, which is apart of Kathu Municipality, received notice about a monitor lizard sleeping in the bathroom of a house in the Sing Thao Thani village, Soi Namtok, Kathu at 11am on Tuesday (May 16).
Upon arrival at the property rescue workers were led to the bathroom where they found the monitor lizard measuring 1.65 metres in length and 21 centimeters wide.
Yongyoth Cheswichean, head of Khao Yai rescue team, said, “Our team were notified of this incident via the ‘1669’hotline.
“This monitor lizard was in the bathroom behind the toilet. It took us a few minutes to remove the reptile and the we bound its legs so it could no escape,” he said.
“We then transported the monitor lizard to the Khao Bang Pan area in Kathu where it was released back into the wild,” he added.
