Man, 24, gunned down amid crowded festivity at Chalong Chinese temple
PHUKET: A 24 year old Thai man named only as 'Joy' is in critical condition after being shot in his upper torso at a crowded Chinese temple last night in Phuket's southern municipality of Chalong.

Police believe the shooting -- which happened at about 8pm at the Saan Jao Guan Oo Chinese shrine-temple in Chalong's Moo 1 amid a crowd of some 500 people celebrating a holy day -- is gang related.
The shooter (s) are at large. More details to follow.
Several months ago a Thai hotel employee was gunned down in front of dozens of witnesses on a crowded street in Chalong after he fled a fight at a popular entertainment establishment.
Last week, a 27-year-old Thai man in Thalang died after his head was bashed with a brick by a group of teens who the victim offended in a pub.
