Located at the site of the old Indy Market (Talad Poi Kong) on Dibuk Road, a popular hang out with the younger crowd, the new ‘lifestyle’ mall is set to officially open in March.

However, about 60 per cent of the shops in the mall are already doing business, including a Tops Supermarket. The remainder are expected to be fully up and running in time for the mall’s grand opening next month.

Built at a cost of B300 million and covering a total of 5,000sqm, the mall features a range of food stalls, fashion outlets and shops selling accessories and natty souvenirs, said proprietor Phanee Koisomboon of Limelight Management Ltd.

Once fully operational, the mall will feature a dozen or so food stalls, 15 fashion outlets and an open air zone that pays tribute to the old Indy Market on which the mall is built.

Ms Phanee said she was confident that Limelight Avenue would be a success as it grows in popularity over time, adding that more Limelight malls could be in the pipeline for Phuket if the concept proved successful.

“It’s what people want,” said Ms Phanne.

Limelight Avenue opens from 10am until 10pm daily with the Tops Supermarket opening from 6:00am until midnight. The mall also has a 24-hour coffee shop, Tom “n’ Tom Coffee, as well as on-site parking.
