At 11:25pm on Monday, Ao Leuk police arrested Snr Sgt Maj Banleur Petkor, a troop commander of the Krabi border police, whilst he was receiving treatment at a local hospital for a gunshot wound he received in a shoot-out with Mr Prasit.
Police seized from Maj Banleur a number of weapons, a police uniform and bullet-proof vest.
Police have stated that Mr Prasit died of a result of gunshot wounds from 9mm and 11mm pistols.
Ao Leuk police chief Col Pasakorn Sontikul said that Maj Banleur has admitted that he shot Mr Prasit, but he was not alone. He declined to name the others involved.
“We know that more than one person committed this crime. The case is now under investigation and we will find the rest of the suspects and bring them in for questioning,” said Col Pasakorn.
