Pol Lt Ms Sirinart Chertchutrakulthong of Kathu Police was alerted to the incident by Patong Hospital's Emergency Room at 11.50am today (December 27).
The injured tourists were named as Mr Zhao Peuie, 25, and Ms Su Han, 26, each of whom sustained injuries to their left lower limbs.
"The two Chinese tourists were friends who rented the jet-skis for leisure. We suspect they had no experience with jet-skis. They were rescued by beach guards on jet-skis,” said Pol Lt Sirinart.
Police have yet to disclose the extent of damage to each of the jet-skis, and who, if anybody, will be held accountable.
