“Phuket has considerable consumer purchasing power and consistent business growth while its real estate and tourism sectors are expanding,” noted Store Manager Takurng Banjongruk.

“Accordingly, home decorations show signs of increasing demand. A company survey revealed that many people from Phuket have come to shop at IKEA Bangna, travelling between the store and their homes in Phuket.

“As a result, IKEA decided to open our first Pick-up & order point in Phuket to match our customers’ needs and provide greater convenience. They can pick up the products five days after the order date, with a tremendous reduction in travelling time and cost.

“Customers in Phuket can order every product available at IKEA Bangna (except live trees) with the same after-sale services, and can also enjoy Swedish-style food and desserts. Our target group is both Thais and foreigners who love decorating and want to make their homes a better place for living. This is in line with IKEA’s vision – to create a better everyday life for the many people.” Mr Takrung added.

The Pick-up & order point, located at Bypass Biz Town on Chalermprakiat Ror IX Rd (the bypass road), has a total area of 2,615 square meters and opened after an investment of over B175 million.

“It is the first of its kind in Asia and the 21st in the world,” Mr Takrung beamed.
