Rescue workers said the snake was around 6 metres long and weighed around 60 kilos.

A team from Kusoldharm received a call from a home owner in Moo Baan Thammarak in Samkong at 3pm yesterday asking them to visit his home because a large snake had gone under the house.

Shift supervisor, Watchara Srikacha, was dispatched to the house with his team where they found the python coiled on the ground in a small space underneath the house.

“The house is located near a hilly area, and under the house the soil was cooler so the python must have gone there to shelter from the heat,” he said.

“It took 10 of us more than 20 minutes to pull the python out. It must have been at least 6 metres long and weighed around 60 kilos.

“Due to its length and size we were unable to place it in a sack, so our team had to put it in the back of our truck. We are going to release it Khao Phra Thaeo in Thalang district,” he added.
