Charnnarong Uoon-ong, 25, originally told police that he was running from teenagers who wanted to hurt him.

But Charnnarong Uoon-ong, 25, from Ratchaburi was not deterred. Police alleged that he continued with his burglary plan, dripping blood all over the floors, leaving doorknobs covered with it, and bright red hand prints on the walls of the home in Permsap Villa, in Baan Manik.

The sound of him rummaging through drawers and closets, woke the owner, Rachaporn Teeparatana, 65.

Caught in the act, the bleeding burglar surrendered immediately to Mr Rachaporn, who escorted him downstairs onto the street, sat him down and then called the police, asking also for medical assistance.

When police arrived Mr Rachaporn told them he had heard noises coming from the second floor, like someone going through his belongings.

“I went upstairs and found the man injured, from the broken glass, I presume. So I took him downstairs and called the police.”

Police noted the damaged window with bits of broken glass strewn across the floor. They also noted blood all over the upper floor.

Police took Mr Rachaporn’s statement and then went to Thalang Hospital, where Charnnarong had been sent to be stiched up.

Charnnarong told them he had broken into the house after running away from a group of teenagers who wanted to hurt him.

“I came inside the house to ask someone for help,” he told officers.

But police noticed that, under questioning, his story changed rather frequently, so they put him under arrest. They expect to charge him with trespass at night.
