PHUKET: The Highways Department have today (Mar 25) confirmed with The Phuket News that work on the Sam Kong Underpass is running smoothly and that it will be ready to open by the deadline date of April 9.

Speaking to The Phuket News today, Project Engineer Chalermpol Wongkiattikun said that workers are now installing the water pumps and that all other work is running smoothly.
“The next big job to do is install the lighting in the underpass itself and that will take place on April 7. But the underpass will be ready to open on April 9,” he said.
