Electricity authorities were notified of the power outage at at 1:12am today (Sept 15).
“We immediately dispatched a team to correct the problem, and power supply was restored to the area at 2:27am,” said an officer at the Provincial Electricity Authority office for Thalang district
“We believe that heavy rains caused the outage,” he said. “Our team also checked the phone lines and found they were dead, so the team notified [state-owned telephone company] TOT so their technicians could fix their lines.”
The phones line connections were operable by 7:30am, he added.
“Everything is normal now, and we did not receive any complaints from customers about the outage,” a spokesperson at the TOT Thalang office told The Phuket News.
Any persons in Thalang suffering power or telephone outages are urged to report the problems to the PEA Thalang office at 076-386882 and the TOT service centre at 1177.
