The French national*, told police that two transvestite prostitutes had stolen his gold necklace and amulet worth about B25,000 in front of the Royal Garden shopping mall on Beach Road in Pattaya shortly after midnight, said Pol Lt Jakkrit Janthakham, duty officer at Pattaya police station.

The complainant, who said he was a police officer, complained that the two ladyboys had approached him while he was walking alone in the area. They had acted friendly and offered to have sex with him. They embraced him and a short time later walked away.

It was about two minutes later he realised a gold necklace and amulat he had worn around his neck for more than 20 years was missing. He strongly believed the two transvestites had stolen it.

While the French national was making his complaint a South Korean tourist went into the police station to file a complaint. Lee Hyogeol, 25, told police that transvestites had stolen cash from his trouser pocket  in front of Royal Garden shopping mall shortly after midnight.

Pol Lt Jakkkrit said police would examine footage from closed-circuit television cameras in the area and nearby areas and tack down the suspects.
