Forced water shutoffs in Kamala, Wichit

PHUKET: Mains water supply will be shut off in selected areas of Kamala and Wichit from Thursday (Oct 22) as the Phuket Provincial Electricity Authority upgrades major power cables serving mains water pump stations.

The Phuket Waterworks Authority (PWA) announced the shutoffs in a notice posted on the office’s Facebook page (click here) yesterday (Oct 20).

In Kamala, the affected areas will be along in the “Surin Beach – Kamala Road”, said the notice. The shutoff will start at 9:30am and continue “until the process is complete”, but works are expected to take only one day.

In Wichit, however, mains water supply will be shut off along Thep Anusorn Rd, which runs east-west from opposite Wat Thepnimit on Chao Fa East Rd to the Shell garage on Chao Fa West Rd.

Mains water supply will be shut off daily from 9am until “end of day”, with the last day of works slated for next Tuesday (October 27).
