Football gamblers netted in Thalang

PHUKET: A crime suppression special task force – led by Thalang District Chief Mr Wira Kerdsirimongkol, and several administration clerks (Palad) – last night netted three gamblers in Pakkhlok, seizing more than B27,000 from the suspects.

The suspects were arrested after being caught with betting prediction and results sheets for international football matches, in Thai called Poy Panun โพยพนันฟุตบอล.

The first suspect, named as 45-year-old Mr Suthat Lohachotikhun, was arrested near a convenience store in Pakkhlok’s Moo 1 village at 8.30pm with B150 and a betting sheet.

The second suspect, named as 49-year-old Mr Swai Tinkohyao, was nabbed at 8.40pm near a neighborhood goods shop next to the Sitthisunathonbumroong School in Pakkhlok, with five betting sheets and B3600 in cash on his person. 

The third suspect, named as 59-year-old Mr Somboon Udomphon, was arrested at the aforementioned shop, with police seizing from him as evidence 101 betting sheets, B23,500 in cash, a computer, fax machine, pens and erasers.

After confessing to gambling, the men were booked at Thalang police station for further processing.
