Large vehicles are having difficulty passing through the Thepkrassattri area, while a number of small vehicle have been left stranded. Traffic police have been dispatched to the area to help direct traffic and drivers are being advised to use the Muang Mai-Pa Khlok-Heroines Monument route as an alternative to avoid the floods.
Other areas affected include in front of the PTT gasoline station at Maejo, Muang Thalang School and Muang Mai where flood waters are now reaching the height of the central reservation.
Police have also reported floods at the entrance to the old airport road and on Thepkrassatttri Rd northbound at Makprok School. Police are advising motorists in the area to use the alternative Baan Mai Khao route.
Meanwhile, Thalang Police confirmed that floods also affected the area in front of Thai Wassadu earlier today after the area was hit by heavy rains this morning. However, three lanes are now open for traffic.
The Thai Meteorological Department’s Southern Meteorological Center (West Coat) today forecast more heavy rain for the period of Nov 6-10 with waves expected to reach heights of up to three metres in certain areas.
