At 8pm, Phuket City police first carried out a swoop in soi Tiampracha Uthit in Rassada and arrested Somsak Hemra, 42, who was found in possession of .44 grams of crystal meth (ya ice).
Police then moved on to soi Maekham on Rassadanusorn Rd and arrested Narong Kierkul, 22, in possession of 600 grams of marijuana and 19 bundles of kratom leaves.
Then on soi Maelew in Talad Neur police arrested three more men in a separate rented rooms. Kitnakorn Phadungart, 35, who was wanted on a previously issued arrest warrant for drug charges, Bew Klinpo, 25, was found in possesion of 2.70 grams of marijuana, and Somsak Marnhaya, 43, had kratom leaves.
All five men were taken to Phuket city police station where Somsak was charged with possession of a Category 1 drug, while Narong, Bew and Somsak were charged with illegal possession of a Category 5 drug.
