The fire broke out at around 2:45pm and a fire truck from Srisoonthon Municipality went to the scene to attempt to control the blaze. However, after 20 minutes of trying the blaze started to spread to a wider area and therefore back up was called for.
The Phuket News has learnt that there are currently four fire trucks from Srisoonthon Municipality, Cherng Talay Municipality, Koh Kaew Orbortor and Thepkasattri Municiplaity trying to control the blaze.
Thick smoke from the fire is causing tailbacks on the sountbound lane of Thepkasattri Rd.
