At the event, to be held at the The Village Coconut Island resort from 6:30 to 8:30pm, Richard Intrator, Chief Investment Officer of Hathor Group, will be delivering a presentation on “Hospitality Investment in Asia”.

Mr Intrator has a long and distinguished career in finance, private equity, management consulting and operations.

Before joining Hathor, he was the Chief Investment Officer and Managing Partner for Leopard Capital Cambodia – Cambodia’s first investment fund – with 14 investments in Cambodia, Laos and Thailand. Within 12 months of being recruited by the founder to turn around the company’s performance, Mr Intrator and his team improved fund net asset value by 35 per cent.

Mr Intrator accomplished this improvement by refocusing Leopard’s culture toward risk management as a mantra for unlocking and securing value. Leopard embraced a unified view toward stabilizing “at risk” investments, optimizing stable but underperforming assets, redeploying capital into higher yielding structured investments, and selectively reinvesting in top performers.

Mr Intrator was the Executive in Residence at Stamford International University (Thailand) during 2011. He earlier held senior roles with IMAX, Petry Media (a portfolio company of Patriarch Partners), Paine Webber, Kidder, Peabody, & Co, and Booz, Allen & Hamilton. His past board memberships include The Lighthouse International (Vice Chairman), Juniper Content Corp, and Golden Books Family Entertainment. Mr Intrator is a certified public accountant, and has a Bachelor of Science from the Wharton School and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

The second speaker on the night will be Christopher Gordon, CEO of The Village Coconut Island, who will be speaking on “Entrepreneurship in the Tourist Industry”

Mr Gordon is a 61-year-old, Phuket-based businessman and a father of four boys. He has been living in Phuket for the past 10 years and has been doing business in Thailand since 1988.

He founded and created Sunsail Worldwide Sailing Holidays in 1980, which he brought to Thailand in the late 80s. He sold the company to First Choice Plc (now TUI PLC) in 2002 and sat on the main board of directors for the following five years.

After his tenure with First Choice and TUI, Mr Gordon moved to Phuket and started a project to create The Village Coconut Island.

Attendance at the business dinner costs B850, including inter-buffet and soft drinks. For more information, visit the BBCT website (Click here.)
