Phuket Highway Project Engineer Somkiet Yimpong who was assigned to oversee construction of the Bang Ku Underpass in Koh Kaew, at the north end of bypass road, told The Phuket News yesterday (Sept 7), “We finished the main excavation work on the main section of the underpass two days ago (Sept 5).

“This section of the underpass is only 100 metres long, the full length of the underpass project is 790m. Now that the excavation work is finished we can now work on installing the water pumps, drainage system and electricity cables.

“Everything is going well, however, there are still some high voltage electricity pylons that need to be moved,” he said.

“The project will definitely be finished before September 14, 2017,” Mr Somkiet added.
