Just over 5,000 fans looked on as superstars like Liverpool great Robbie Fowler, ex-Manchester United striker Louis Saha, as well as World Cup players Des Walker and Paul Parker took part in the Emerald EPL Masters Tour Phuket 2014.
In addition, a litany of other former EPL stars graced the field, including: Lee Sharpe (Manchester United), Lee Hendrie (Aston Villa), David Hirst (Sheffield Wednesday), Regi Blinker (Sheffield Wednesday), Keith Gillespie (Blackburn Rovers), John Beresford (Newcastle) and Darren Anderton (Tottenham).
Piyapong Pue-On - considered one of Thailands greatest players ever – managed the squad of Thailand Legends which included Kiatisuk “Zico” Senamuang and even Phuket FC captain Wasan Natasan, who scored the game's first goal early in the first half.
Fowler evened things out with a penalty shot in the middle of the first half.
Saha, who trucked along with a strong burst and showcased the skills that made him a feared French international, contributed a goal of his own with a beautiful strike from the right flank.
But it was all Thailand after that as the hosts scored three straight to take back the lead 4-2.
Former Aston Villa great Lee Hendrie would score the game's final goal with just ten minutes left in the match but it was too late as the Thailand Legends waltzed their way to a victory under the floodlights of Surakul Stadium.
The match was the culmination of four-day of pregame festivities that included several meet-and-greets and youth football clinics throughout the island.
