At 10am today, Thalang Police were alerted by the sound of a car alarm coming from a vehicle parked in the car park to their station.
Sen Sgt Maj Nikon Songkhao went to investigate and found that alarm was coming from a black Honda Accord with Songkhla license plates.
An EOD team were called to investigate, and while using a scanning device to check for any suspect devices the road in front of the police station was closed to traffic.
Sen Sgt Maj Nikon explained, “The alarm was still going off when the EOD team were scanning the vehicle for suspicious items. They checked the car inside-out before silencing the alarm. The team found no explosive devices in the vehicle.
“When we heard the alarm this morning we were trying to find the owner, no one came forward so we proceed with our normal protocol in situations such as these.
“We were later told that a woman left the car in the car park yesterday evening and when she did so she notified an officer on duty at the station that she would be leaving it there for two to three days as she was going out of the province for a business trip,” he said.
“We checked the registration details of the vehicle and it turns out that this registration number is identical to that of another vehicle in Songkla, and we we contacted the owner of that vehicle he confirmed the car was with him.
“We will now keep this car here and will question the owner about the registration when she comes back,” Sen Sgt Maj Nikon added.
