A watchman saw sparks coming from the main Hard Rock sign at about 8am. He called the fire brigade who put out the fire within five minutes.
No one was injured, and there was no damage to the interior of the building, though part of the roof was burned. Firemen said the most likely cause was an electrical short.
Sasichon Thongnak, the Director of Sales and Marketing at Hard Rock Cafe, said the venue had insurance and was waiting for an insurance representative to visit to evaluate the damage.
