Crash bus driver still in hiding

The police are still searching for the driver of a tour bus that crashed near the bottom of Patong hill on March 8.
The driver, identified as Yongyut Jantip, 29, originally from Trang Province, is still on the run from Police since the crash.
The Kathu police said Tiangtham Tour, the company that owned the bus, had provided the driver’s name, but did not know his home address, as he had only been working for the company for a brief time.
Pol Lt Patapee Srichai of Kathu police station said Tiangtham Tour had already paid compensation to the families of the deceased. The company has announced that it will also take responsibility for the medical expenses of those injured in the crash.
Police have said they will conduct further interviews with those injured in the crash once they have been released from hospital, in order to issue a warrant for the arrest of Mr Yongyut.
