He will take over from Surapot Chanakit who moved yesterday (January 22) to the equivalent post in Muang District.
The moves come after an order from the Ministry of Interior on January 16.
Mr Veera was moved suddenly in the middle of 2013 after an anonymous pamphleting campaign accused him of demanding bribes – allegations he strenuously denied. He was posted to Donsak Disrict in Surat Thani, the ferry gateway to Koh Samui.
