According to initial reports the driver of the tour bus, which was transporting Chinese tourists, blamed the accident on brake failure. However, the subsequent police report cited the buses inability to ascend the hill as the cause.
The injured, who are reported to be in safe condition with only minor injuries after being admitted to hospital, include four women and one man.
The accident occured at 8.30am at a hill at Hasip Pee Rd, near the Pak Lak junction off Nanai soi 7.
The driver of the Nakhon Pathom-registered tour bus was named as 29-year-old Apiwat Tanset of Trang, who told police that earlier this morning (June 25) he had picked up 14 Chinese tourists from the airport and was taking them to the Patong Bay Hill Resort on Hasip Pee Road.
Police issued the driver an alcohol test which came back clean.
The remaining nine tourists on the bus were "unaffected" and transported to their hotel.
