Catch Beach Club, was one of several businesses to be demolished along the shore front at Surin Beach in April this year after years of deliberation and objection by tenants at the site. (See story here.)

The announcement made on the Catch Beach Club Facebook page yesterday read as follows:

“Catch Beach Club Re-established BANGTAO BEACH, PHUKET – The world acclaimed and legendary Catch Beach Club in Phuket, Thailand is being re-established on Bangtao Beach, taking over the previous Bliss Beach Club site.

“The building and outdoor areas are being entirely revamped and will open on Christmas Eve (Saturday, 24 December 2016) with an amazing night for all dining, fashion and clubbing lovers. Famous for its amazing beachside setting, with the kind of discrete luxury loved and admired by the international jet set, this new venue will continue to transform tropical vacation experiences into unforgettable memories.

“Voted as one of the “World’s best beach bars” by CNN Travel and famous for its stylish lunches, beautiful dinners and long party nights, it will continue to offer the nest seaside culinary delights as well as the latest technological innovations in sound and light environment.

“Under the design guidance of Martin Palleros at Tierra Design and energy harmonization from Miguel Kirjon at GeoDesign Asia, the Catch Beach Club team will return along with Phuket’s award-winning Chef Khun Anan in the kitchen, service wizard Khun Bass taking back the reins of the dining, while Khun Ball and Khun X once again master the cosmic cocktails. Favorite clubbing magicians DJ Romain Pelleti and DJ Joey will delight Deep House lovers with their inspirational dance music. We invite party lovers everywhere to dive into the history, legacy, dreams, challenges and values which have contributed to making Catch Beach Club one of the most fashionable beach clubs in the world."

ematt, I understand your feeling, however:
---Demolition by thai law of beach clubs during the last 2 years was because they were illegal.( nothing to do with expats)
--- Indeed, the thai laws are very good, may be to many, and sometimes laws conflicting with other laws. ( nothing to do with expats)
--- Lack of thai law enforcement, you can not denie that, can you? ( nothing to do with expats)
After all, because of that so much of demolition took place.

--- ematt, expats mostly come from countries were many likewise matters are not a problem because there are good non corrupted laws/regulations enforcements in place.

Many times I give examples of how certain things are very well done in Singapore.
Yes, I know, thai are proud and jump sometimes when I write about it.
But why not implement the good things, proved to work well, of Singapore.
It doesn't mean you have to copy Singapore way of life.
Just save yourself the time and efforts to invent the wheel again, in many ways.

You know, ematt, sometimes you need the eye of a outsider to make you see what is wrong and can be done better.
And it is the 'better making' for the thai people too what counts, agree?
And ematt, let us not forget that Phuket is a multinational/cultural society.

What's really wrong with Phuket is not the beach clubs, or Thai laws, or the lack of enforcement of Thai laws, or a local news outlet that gives a free plug to a local business. It's the cohort of whiney, bitchy, disgruntled, negative, moralising know-it-all expats who apparently have absolutely nothing better to do than to sit around all day pontificating about something as inconsequential as a bloody business announcement.... Jeesh!

Yeah...what's with the free advert PN? Hopefully Bliss got a cool payout to leave, as it had become surrounded with undesireable uses, mainly, BangTao's new wastewayter treatment plant located right next door to the north...where all the wastewater flow right out in front of Bliss/Catch club. It will also be nice to have all the drunk drivers leaving there at night and driving throufgh the pot hole infested town of BangTao...worst street system in Phuket, hands down. The good thing is that the obnoxious disco crap no longer pollutes Surin Beach, even though Surin still looks like it was recently bombed. Jeez this place is a freeking mess.

Agree with CaptainJack; this is an advert & is sickening. I hope no-one goes, they don't deserve the custom. For 'considerably richer than you' people only.

So "The building and outdoor areas are being entirely revamped" and they're bringing in the latest in technological innovations in sound and light environment", but the place will only be closed for less than 2 months? (I was there the other day and it was business as usual). This statement already makes them sound like exactly the kind of people that kept us away from the original Catch.

R.I.P Bliss, you were Phukets only tolerable "beach club", you will be missed.

BTW. PhuketNews, how much did they pay you for this advert?

A nice advertisement for this re-erecting beach club. Hope for them they not going to face the same problems as that finger pier at kamala Beach.
Same same, but different, noise/environment pollution. parking problems, at correct distance ( by thai laws) from beach? Etc, as 'many thai laws' involved.

Was reading again 'see story', Surin beach structures demolished in April 2016.
And:..."in one year Phuket must transfer Surin beach into Rajabhakti Park, a place of education for the future"..

It is now November 2016. How they think to complete this Rajabhakti park by April 2017 ?
