The owner of the car, Mr. Pakawat Kumpairan, 24 of Kathu, told police that he was driving to the airport when he noticed heavy smoke coming from under the hood after he reached the Koh Kaew intersection. He stopped and asked locals for help, who brought extinguishers and called police.
Thalang police in coordination with the rescue unit and fire brigade from Sri Sunthorn municipal arrived on the scene and put out the blaze within a few minutes.
