Acting on a tipoff about seven suspicious sacks in the bushes in Tambon Nong Kae, a team of explosive ordnance demolition (EOD) from Naresuan barracks was sent to the scene.

The EOD team carefully opened the seven green and white sacks bearing the words “first company of the first battalion”.

Hidden inside the sacks were ammunition boxes containing C4 and TNT explosives, incendiary devices, tear gas grenades, smoke bombs, detonators and ammunition for M16 and AK47 assault rifles.

Police said that the explosives and ammunition were in good condition but it could not be determined whether the war weapons would be used to disrupt the mobile cabinet meeting or not.

It is believed to be more likely that the owner of the weapons dumped them in the bushes for fear that he might be caught in possession and face serious criminal charges.
