Narenthorn EMS Centre received a report around 10am on Monday morning (April13) that two boys were about to drown at Baan Nam Kem beach in Bang Muang, Takuapa, Phang Nga so they and the team went out to the scene.

When officers arrived on scene, they found a crowd tending to the boys and learned that a Burmese man named Auw, 18, was missing. Officers took a boat to search 200 metres away from the shore and found Auw's body 30 minutes later.

Officers attempted to save his life but were unable to do so.

Witnesses at the scene said that the two Burmese boys (both are 8) travelled with their family. Their parents were resting on the beach while they went down to the sea. Later, the parents noticed that the boys were far away from the shore and about to drown. Auw and his friend saw them as well and dove in to help the boys but he drowned because the tide was high.

Locals eventually helped save the three but couldn't find Auw. Later his body was found and sent to Takuapa Hospital for autopsy. The two boys are safe but Auw's friend was still in a coma.
