As part of Police Region 8's latest push to rid the community of drugs and weapons, police were monitoring a suspicious house in the Phuket Villa Daoroong housing estate on Tuesday afternoon.
At the house, they confronted 26-year-old, Worrawit “Fuse” Intararaksa of Cherngtalay, who was suspiciously standing in front of the house. Police proceeded to search Fuse, finding one meth pill and 0.1 gram of crystal meth, and a smoking device. He was arrested and charged with possession of category 1 drugs
As they were finishing up the arrest, a second suspicious young man on a motorbike arrived to the scene, but quickly fled when he saw police.
Police followed pursuit and quickly apprehended him. A subsequent body search of the young man, who was identified as Pawornroot “Boom” Theppabuth of Sakoo, unveiled 45 meth pills and 0.86 grames of crystal meth, as well as two 12-guage sized bullets and a 12-guage hand pistol conceiled inside his pants.
Boom was charged with possession of category 1 drugs with intent to sell, possession of a firearm and bullets without a permit, and carrying a weapon into public without permit.
The two young men were sent to Vichit Police Station for processing, while police look to expand their investigation.
