Tha Chatchai Deputy Superintendent Lt Col Salis Buthnongsang this morning led his team and Kusoldharm rescue workers to look for Mr Aroon or Reephan Singkhala who went missing during a fishing trip at Ao Bangduk yesterday night.

Lt Col Salis said, “Friends and family of Mr Aroon said that they went looking for him when he did not return from his fishing trip last night. They found some of his tools which had been left in a mangrove, but they could search no more because it was dark,” he said.

“Divers were searching for Mr Aroon for two hours today and at 11:55am residents of Baan Khlong Khian in Phang Nga reported that they had spotted a body floating in the sea.

“Phang Nga rescue workers believed it was the body of the missing man and asked for family members to come to Ta Khua Thung Hospital to help identify the body.

“We were later told by Khok Kloi Police that family members confirmed it was the body of Mr Aroon,” he added.
