Body found in Phuket rubber plantation

Phuket:The body of a man was found in a rubber plantation in Thalang yesterday evening (February 22). The cause of his death is currently unknown.

At 6pm, Lt Suporn Meangkhai from Thalang police received a call from Pojana Leelanon, a local rubber farmer, to say that the body of a man was found in a rubber plantation in Baan Kwan, Thepkasattri.

 When police and Kusoldharm rescuers arrived they were led to the body of the male victim, described as 155-160 cm tall and about 35-40 years of age, who was lying face up under a tree. He was dressed in a blue jacket and long trousers.

The victim was known to local residents as Biew(nobody knew his real name). They told police that Biew worked in the area and took on a variety of jobs, and that he regularly came to the rubber plantation to rest and drink alcohol.

Pojana, the rubber plantation owner, said that he saw the victim go into the plantation at 5pm and when he went to check on him at 6pm found him dead under the tree.

The body of Biew was taken to Thalang Hospital, and police are currently trying to locate his family to inform them of the death.
