Commercial director, Santisuk Klongchaiya, said Thai AirAsia’s objective is to create a network that offers convenience through reliable land or ferry transfer services that extend the reach of air services.
“After launching several City Transfer routes, the airline has gained strong feedback from both local and foreign travellers who appreciate the option of easy travel.”
The latest City Transfer extends the Don Mueang-Buri Ram flight to Surin via a one-hour shuttle bus service.
AirAsia already has bus/boat transfers to eight islands – Koh Samui, Koh Pha Ngan, Koh Lanta, Koh Phi Phi, Koh Lipe, Koh Ngai, Koh Yao Noi and Koh Tao and bus transfers to Pai (via Chiang Mai), Sukhothai (via Phitsanulok), Mahasarakam (via Khon Kaen or Roi Et), Kalasin (via Khon Kaen), Mukdahan (via Nakhon Phanom), Kanom (via Nakhon Sri Thammarat), and Khao Lak (via Krabi).
Meanwhile, AirAsia X celebrated its inaugural flight from Don Mueang to Sapporo on May 1 with a 100pc load factor of 377 passengers on the Airbus A330-300.
