African tourist arrested for drug possession in Phuket

PHUKET: West African tourist Barry Bouacar, 45 was arrested in Patong on Tuesday night (May 8), after police found he was selling drugs to other tourists.

Bouacar, a Guinea national, had been tracked for some time by Kathu police before his arrest, after his role as an alleged drug dealer was reported to police.

He was arrested during an attempt to sell 15 grammes of ya ice to an undercover police detective at a hotel on Nanai Road.

An additional 60 grammes of ya ice was found in his room.

Police have charged him with drug possession.
