In the course of the arrests police seized a number of stolen items, a vehicle used for the crimes and other items.

At 5pm on Monday (May 29), a team of officers led by Wichit Police Chief Col Nikorn Somsuk arrested Ms Nattha Wilardlad, 28, from Phuket and Ms Waraporn Thichinphong, 38, from Nakhon Sri Thammmarat at a property on the Panason Villa Borae on the Muangthong - Borae Rd in Wichit.

The arrests came after several burglaries were carried out on the evening of May 18 at the Anuphas Manorom housing complex in Wichit and other properties in the area.

After making their investigations, officers found that the thief/thieves had used a Bronze Isuzu pickup truck to commit the crimes.

Duty officers then discovered the pickup – a D-max model – parked in front of a property at Phanason Villa Borae and decided to investigate.

Inside the property they found Nattha and Waraporn who told police that they lived in the house but did not own the pickup. Police also found in the house a number of items which had been reported stolen along with air riffles, all of which were taken as evidence.

Nattha and Waraporn then told police that the pickup belonged to a Mr Weerayut Wilardlad and that Nattha’s husband Mr Sophon Hieamharn often used the vehicle and that he had left the items with them but did not disclose where they had come from. They denied any involvement in the thefts.

Nattha and Waraporn were taken to Wichit Police Station where they were charged accordingly.
