The pickup was driving east along Phra Phuket Kaew Rd Rd, (the road from Patong to Tesco Lotus) when its driver lost control and crossed the median divider, hitting another pickup truck travelling in the opposite direction and injuring its driver.

The impact rammed the second truck backwards into a motorbike that was following it, injuring its rider, a woman Yakult (yoghurt) seller.

Neither was seriously hurt but both were taken to Vachira Hospital.

Orn, the daughter of the motorbike rider, 48-year-old Darat Tengkamnued, said she found out about the crash when her mother called her.

“I came here straight away, and I felt much better after I talked with my mother. She has been taken to Vachira Hospital with pain in her legs and arms.”

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
