The man who robbed the bank – holding staff at gunpoint before fleeing with B2.7 million in cash – is still on the run, despite a B100,000 reward on his head.

Chalermpan Pukkapan, the southern area manager of Kasikorn bank, gave officials a tour of the scene.

Afterward, the team headed to the Phuket police station for a meeting, where they were shown the interior CCTV recording of the robbery and CCTV footage of Sapam Road.

Pol. Maj. Gen. Yongyuth revealed in the meeting that police believe the robber lives near the bank, and carried out the robbery alone.

The bike which he escaped on is believed to be a white Honda Fino with no licence.

Pol. Maj. Gen. Yongyuth has already spoken to the local government about implementing stricter security measures.

While there are no plans to increase the number of police stationed on Phuket, there is a course being held to train 350 new cadets, and two new police stations are planned for Karon and Wichit.
