The first band up was Sticky Rice and the Nuggets, a young group from HeadStart International School. Their performance of Cranberries classic Zombie was rock solid, and while all the members performed exceptionally well, it was eight-year-old Nutcha Phaisamsan that won the hearts of the audience and judges with her confident vocal performance.

The second of the three bands performing was HeadStruck, the older band from HeadStart. Playing on the vocal strengths of their lead singer Masha Prikhodko, the band covered two Evanescence songs. Their strong performance, musical ability and image saw them end the day as runners up.

The third and final act on the day was a brand new band from British International School, The Bayonets. Their off the wall look and inspired song choices were only overshadowed by their sheer talent and stage performance.

Shannon Smith’s oddly cool stage presence was refreshing to witness, and he led his battle ready troops to win the final heat and put The Bayonets through to the finals.

Despite this being the band’s first real performance in front of an audience, they played together like a band of brothers.

With bands Notorious, Sicma and The Bayonets through to the finals, it is now down to online votes and views for the rest of the bands to see which two will join the first round winners in the finals on May 4.
