The TAT has launched a mobile campaign to further boost the domestic tourism industry. The campaign focuses on visiting famous temples in 19 central and upper south provinces.
After launching a temple-visiting caravan tour, TAT Governor Surapol Svetasreni said he expected to see tourism revenue of 2 trillion baht this year, believing the campaign would help the country reach the goal.
The caravan comprised 37 buses, with over 1,200 people joining the tour program. The program offers 10 different routes into central and upper southern Thailand, including the provinces of Phetchaburi and Prachuap Khiri Khan or Nonthaburi and Ang Thong.
Travelers can choose whether they want to stay overnight or just take a day trip. The project is a joint venture between the TAT, the Kanchanaburi Chamber of Commerce, and 47 entrepreneurs.
