Showing The Phuket News around the new centre this week, Medical Director Dr Sutthi Sawetsuthiphan said that as well as concentrating on preventative measures to maintain health, the centre also offered a number of health programmes for particular ailments.

For instance, tailored packages that can improve male health performance, female health performance, digestive performance and energy among other things.

“The first step is the consultation; then the blood tests, then the implementation of supplements,” said Dr Sutthi.

“Many of the blood tests are done right here at the centre,” he said, “while others like the neurotransmitter profile need to be sent to Germany to be analysed there – it takes about two weeks.”

At the Aesthetic Centre, emphasis is also placed on measuring and improving metabolic and hormonal function. Key to Thanyapura’s work with regards to their anti-ageing treatment is their new ‘bio reset’, which activates stem cells that allow clients to ‘preserve and even restore the vitality of youth’.

Advancements in anti-ageing techniques are an area Dr Suttthi has been intensely interested in during his 25 years of working in general practice.

“I have always wanted to focus on [anti-ageing]. Now that there’s been a lot of research about stem cells in use with anti-ageing – although a lot of it has not yet been approved, in the next few years it will be – these are exciting times.”

Somebody who shares Dr Sutthi’s vision is Professor Dr Michael Klentze – chief medical and scientific officer at Thanyapura.

“I’ve worked all over the world specialising in anti-ageing treatment and was actually working for the Spanish government to market Madrid as an anti-ageing capital, but the plans were halted with the global economic crisis,” he said.

“Owner of Thanyapura Klaus Hebben had wanted to invest in Spain, so instead decided to bring me here, to open something [in Phuket].

“It’s all about combining everything together, having the nutrition, the sports centre, the programmes, it’s all interlinked so it makes sense for it all to be together. Thanyapura Integrative Health Centre has it all.”
