Staff at the resort notified the Sakoo Police of the man’s death at 5:40pm.

Lt Thanakarn Auchanaratsamee of the Sakoo Police and Maikhao rescue workers arrived to find the man hanged with a rope tied to the bathroom door handle on one side and looped over the top the door then tied around his neck.

Staff explained that the 42-year-old man* checked in to the hotel alone on Monday (May 29) and was to check out yesterday, but he did not.

“A room maid could not get inside the room for cleaning as the door was locked from the inside,” Lt Thanakarn reported.

“We opened the room next to his and accessed his room via the balcony, and found the man hanged.”

Lt Thanakarn noted there were no signs of a struggle on the man’s body or in the room.

However, he added that officers were continuing their investigation.

Among the few items found in the room was a plastic shopping bag branded in Russian language containing a second bundle of brand-new, recently purchased rope matching the rope used for the hanging.

The man’s body was taken to Thalang Hospital, Lt Thanakarn noted.

“Russian embassy representatives have been informed of his death,” he confirmed.

Eagle, maybe you are having \"one of those days\" my comment wasn\'t aimed at you. Fact is, all I asked was for ematt, and Foot, to counter Stlar\'s comment, something they seem incapable of doing.

Rorii | 05 June 2017 - 12:31:34

Foot, instead of arguing, why don't you, and ematt, prove Stlar wrong, if you can't then forever hold your peace.

Why don't you ask ematt to show any proof for his comment "More than in other countries, or, in their home countries", I guess your argument is only one sided.
Ematt accuses Stlar of being wrong, without supplying evidence.

Foot | 05 June 2017 - 09:31:31

Actually, Rorii, it's usually up to the speaker to prove what they say, not the listener.
If Stlar had said "It seems lots of foreigners killing themselves in Thailand" he wouldn't have to prove it since it's an opinion.
But. if Stlar states something as a fact, rather than an opinion, it's up to him to justify it.

Rorii | 04 June 2017 - 15:43:22

Ematt, very rare, if ever, to hear of a tourists killing themselves in Australia, perhaps you can disprove, what Stlar said, by posting your proof, to counter what he said, instead of saying he is wrong, he made the comment, up to you to disprove it, forever hold your "piece".... oops peace.

ematt | 04 June 2017 - 08:32:36

Stlar - Really? More than in other countries, or, in their home countries? Please cite the statistics and your source. Thanks!

Stlar | 02 June 2017 - 22:48:08

Lots of foreigners killing themselves in thailand
