Phuket Ruamjai Rescue Foundation spokesman Somjit Suchat said the man had a head injury, a deep hole at the back of neck, and bruising around his eyes and body .
The dead man was wearing only shorts when he was found.
He was around 160 centimetres tall, with fair skin and blonde hair.
“There was blood around the house, both inside and outside, from the inside door to beside the pool, and in the kitchen,” Mr Somjit said.
He estimated the man had been dead for between four and six hours.
Chalong Police Lt Col Jamroon Plaiduang said the man was found by his friend, Vadin Rogov, 41, who was staying at the house at the time. Mr Rogov called the housing office, who then called the police and the hospital.
Lt Col Jamroom said police are investigating the death.
