Pol Sub Lt Kosol Suksomboon of Chalong Police told The Phuket News, “We believe the person has been dead for around a month. There is nothing left but the bones and two rings on the left hand.
“The skeleton is around 160 cm in height and may be male. The bones have been sent to Vachira Phuket hospital for investigation.
“A monk who lives up there told me that last month he encountered a man, aged around 35, who appeared to have some damage to his forehead, perhaps from an accident, and who seemed a bit crazy.
“On March 27 or 28, this guy went out to buy some alcohol but he may have got lost or collapsed on the way. There is a possibility it is the same person.”
