Phuket4Kids: Where to find fun with the kids?

Question: We have just moved to Phuket for a few months with our 14-month-old. I wondered if you would be able to give me any hints or tips on places to go with her for entertainment, activities and socialising with other children. Are there any regular playgroups? We are currently based in Kamala but happy to travel.

Answer: Dear Clare, thank you for your question. There are more and more opportunities to be out and about with children on Phuket. Here are a few suggestions to get you and your toddler started:

Central Festival has a Gymboree centre (gymboree.co.th) in the basement. Very well organised and excellent activities for young children.

FunStart (funstartphuket.com) have a play centre in the Kathu area. There is a café, pool and a fantastic ball enclosure ideal for toddlers.

Phuket Chicky Net (chickynet.com) is a site for women on Phuket. They have groups, forums and there is a Phuket mum’s group where you can meet other mums and join playgroups.

The British International School, Phuket (bisphuket.ac.th) hold a toddler Stay and Play group Thursday mornings which is open to the all the Phuket Community.

One of the newer venues to come to Phuket is the Kids Club in Patong (thek idsclubphuket.com) which boasts an enormous ball park and holds events and activities.
Hope this helps get you started, Donna
